Salomon Kalou wants Lille stay

Lille striker Salomon Kalou has revealed that he wants to stay with the Ligue 1 club following the arrival of new coach Rene Girard.

The 28-year-old had been heavily linked with a move to West Ham United, while West Bromwich Albion were also believed to been on the Ivorian's services.

"Rene Girard is a coach who can help me progress," Kalou told Voix du Nord. "Under these conditions, I do not see why I should go for something elsewhere."

Kalou, who joined Lille from Chelsea in the summer of 2012, scored 16 goals in all competitions last season.
