Oswaldo Vizcarrondo earns point for Nantes against Lille

Oswaldo Vizcarrondo scores a late equaliser as Nantes claim a 1-1 draw with Lille in Ligue 1.

Oswaldo Vizcarrondo scored a late equaliser as Nantes fought back to claim a 1-1 draw against Lille in Ligue 1.

Lille dominated the early exchanges, and they came close to breaking the deadlock when Sebastien Corhia picked out Kevin Koubemba, whose effort was deflected just wide.

The visitors would open the scoring a few moments later when a long ball forward caused confusion in the Nantes defence, allowing Jonathan Delaplace to fire home on the turn.

Nantes had a chance to hit back before the break as Ismael Bangoura led the attack before sliding a ball into the path of Vincent Bessat, but his low effort was tipped past the post by Vincent Enyeama.

Remy Riou came to the rescue for Nantes early in the second half to keep out a swerving long-range effort from Adama Traore.

Lille continued to threaten on the counter-attack as Nantes were forced to step up their attempts to find an equaliser.

However, the pressure from Nantes finally produced a breakthrough with 10 minutes remaining as Jordan Veretout delivered a cross for Vizcarrondo to head home the equaliser.

Divock Origi, who was left out of Lille's starting lineup, almost snatched them victory in stoppage time when he evaded a number of defenders on an impressive solo run, only for Riou to blocked the on-loan Liverpool forward's effort to clinch a point for his side.
