Herve Renard: 'Lille can get results anywhere'

Herve Renard claims his Lille side are a match for anyone in Ligue 1 after their goalless draw at Monaco.

Lille coach Herve Renard has admitted that his team were lucky to remain on level terms after a tough first-half examination away to Monaco.

Les Dogues managed to escape with a point, but were reliant on saves from Vincent Enyeama to keep them in the game at the Stade Louis II.

However, Renaud is confident that the performance and result shows that Lille can compete with any team in the division.

He is quoted by Ligue 1.com as saying: "We were lucky in the first half with an impressive Vincent Enyeama save from a (Joao) Moutinho free kick.

"In the second half we made less technical errors on the ball and we created some chances. I would have liked it if one had become a goal, but hey, it's still a good point taken at Monaco.

"This is proof that when you put a lot of effort and teamwork into a game, we can get results anywhere."

Lille narrowly lost their opening game at home to Paris Saint-Germain last weekend.
