Deyverson strike earns Levante victory over Villarreal

An 83rd-minute goal from Deyverson has helped Levante register a narrow victory over Villarreal in La Liga.

Levante had chances to take the lead during the first half with both Zouhair Feddal and Roger going close for the home side.

Villarreal's hopes of securing three points suffered an early setback when Bojan Jokic was sent off for a poor challenge of Ivan Lopez.

Just after half time, Deyverson almost broke the deadlock when his effort needed to be tipped away by Alphonse Areola.

With 16 minutes left, the Yellow Submarines nearly scored against the run of play as a cushioned header from Roberto Soldado teed up Eric Bailly, but the defender's effort was saved by Ruben.

However, Levante snatched victory in the dying moments as Deyverson turned home Nabil Ghilas's cross.
