Xavi Torres scores in stoppage time to seal a one-goal victory for Levante over visiting Villarreal.

Xavi Torres struck in stoppage time to claim all three points for Levante from their home fixture with Villarreal this afternoon.

In an opening half of very few chances, Levante's Barkero had the best chance to break the deadlock, but he shot over from ten yards out.

In a frantic last few minutes, visiting Villarreal were reduced to ten men when veteran defender Carlos Marchena was handed his marching orders for a second bookable offence.

The hosts made their numerical advantage count in the second minute of injury time when he reacted quickest to a goalmouth scramble and poked the ball in from close range.

The three points have lifted Levante up to fourth in the La Liga table.
