Ryan Bertrand 'agrees two-year Leicester City contract'

Ryan Bertrand has reportedly reached an agreement with Leicester City over a two-year contract.

The 31-year-old is available on a free transfer this summer, having left Southampton following the expiration of his deal, and a number of clubs have been credited with an interest in his services.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Leicester have won the race for his signature, with Bertrand agreeing terms on a contract until June 2023.

The report claims that the experienced defender will undergo a medical on Thursday before officially signing the deal, which is likely to include the option of a further 12 months.

Arsenal and AC Milan are also thought to have shown an interest in the Englishman, but Brendan Rodgers's side have held off the competition for the former Chelsea youngster.

Bertrand, who has been capped on 19 occasions by his national team, scored eight times and contributed 20 assists in 240 appearances for Southampton before leaving St Mary's in search of pastures new.
