Leicester City sign Riyad Mahrez from Le Havre

Leicester City have confirmed the signing of Le Havre winger Riyad Mahrez.

The 22-year-old French-Algerian has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal from the Ligue 2 side for an undisclosed fee, believed to be around £400,000.

"Riyad is a pleasing addition to a squad that already has a lot of quality and I'm delighted we've been able to secure his signature," Foxes manager Nigel Pearson told the Leicester Mercury.

"Whenever we look to add to our squad, it has to be player that will improve us while complementing what we already have and Riyad certainly fits that description.

"He is a talented player, technically very good, and he gives us another option in attacking positions."

Mahrez could make his Foxes debut next Saturday against Leeds United, subject to the completion of the relevant paperwork.
