Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson not expecting sack

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson insists that he does not expect to be sacked amid the team's poor run of form.

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson has insisted that he does not fear for his job following the team's slide down the Premier League table.

The Foxes are currently in the relegation zone on goal difference after five defeats in their last six games.

Despite his side's poor run of form, Pearson does not expect Leicester's Thai owners to sack him in the immediate future.

"I find it quite irritating that every time we have a setback it's always about a manager's position," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "It's ludicrous really but that's the industry we work in.

"I manage through highs and lows and those decisions are absolutely nothing to do with me. My influence is working with the staff and players. I cannot influence a great deal else. I will continue to do my job in the way I always do it."

Leicester continue their Premier League campaign on November 22 when they host Sunderland.
