Harry Redknapp: 'Promoted teams can all avoid relegation'

Harry Redknapp believes that the three sides promoted from the Championship last season all have a chance of surviving relegation from the Premier League.

Harry Redknapp has claimed that the three sides promoted from the Championship last season all have a chance of surviving relegation from the Premier League.

Leicester City, who finished top of the second tier in 2014, sit bottom of the table with 22 points from 30 games, while fellow promoted teams Burnley and Queens Park Rangers make up the bottom three on 26 points.

Redknapp told BBC Sport: "The three teams that came up, everyone seems to be tipping them to go do down but they could all stay up. It's highly unlikely, but it's not impossible.

"It's close down there. Sunderland are still bang in it. Hull are still in it. There's six teams bang in trouble. Leicester could still get out and Burnley have been excellent all season."

The last time that all three promoted teams survived their first season back in the top flight was 2011-12, when QPR, Norwich City and Swansea City all stayed up.
