Nigel Pearson: 'We need to continue to believe'

Leicester boss Nigel Pearson insists that his side need to continuing believing that they can get themselves out of their predicament at the foot of the Premier League.

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson has stressed that his side will continue to believe that they have the ability to escape relegation from the Premier League this season.

The Foxes extended their winless run in the top flight to 12 matches with a 2-0 loss to West Ham United at Upton Park, as goals from Andy Carroll and Stewart Downing condemned Pearson's men to defeat.

He told the club's official website: "What we have to do is continue to believe in what we do and how we do it. I find it difficult, because I know that we're not far away from some really good football.

"I would take a very lucky result at the moment, but when your team continues to play with the spirit and I think at times, ability, it remains so frustrating not to pick up points.

"It's another one where I'm having to stand here and probably say similar things to things I've said in the past. The clinical side of our game at both ends of the field has not been there."

Leicester are five points adrift of safety at the bottom of the table.
