Leicester City's Ben Hamer elated with defensive display

Leicester City keeper Ben Hamer believes that his side's defensive display was vital in securing a 1-0 victory over Hull City at the KC Stadium.

Leicester City keeper Ben Hamer has hailed his side's defensive display in their 1-0 win over Hull City.

The Foxes ended a run of 13 games without a win in the Premier League as Riyad Mahrez's strike was enough to secure the three points at the KC Stadium, in a match where both sides were reduced to 10 men late on.

Hamer told Sky Sports News: "It was very tough we were hanging on for a bit in the end. The sending off for them helped, but we were resolute and we defended as a team to keep the ball out of the net. It was very pleasing for us.

"First half we were pretty comfortable, I thought we moved the ball pretty well and we a got a deserved goal through Riyad.

"Obviously when you're a goal down you tend to throw the kitchen at it and they certainly did. We had to work very hard to keep the ball out of the net and I thought the guys were great at the end."

Leicester kept their first clean sheet in six games in their win over Steve Bruce's men.
