Newcastle United chasing Alex Mowatt?

Newcastle United are allegedly looking to wrap up the signing of Leeds United midfielder Alex Mowatt.

Newcastle United are reportedly trying to complete the signing of Leeds United youngster Alex Mowatt.

The 20-year-old scored nine Championship goals from midfield for the Whites last season.

According to The Mirror, Newcastle have been attempting to force through a move but Leeds owner Massimo Cellino is reluctant to sell the player.

Mowatt, who is believed to be valued at £8m, has previously been linked with Premier League sides Everton and Aston Villa.

He signed a new contract with Leeds last summer which will keep him at Elland Road until 2017.
