Leeds United are reportedly chasing a deal for a 24-cap international striker from AC Milan.
The Yorkshire giants are currently preparing for their first game back in the Premier League as they play host to Everton on Monday night.
Daniel Farke will be delighted with the club's summer transfer business thus far with eight major additions having been made ahead of the final two weeks of the window.
Former Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin was the most recent acquisition and the England international will now challenge Joel Piroe for a place down the centre of the attack.
However, as per sports broadcaster Ben Jacobs, who was commenting on X, Leeds are also making an ambitious attempt to sign a Milan frontman.
Which AC Milan attacker are Leeds targeting?
Jacobs says that discussions have been opened regarding a potential deal for Noah Okafor.
In July 2023, he arrived at San Siro with the expectation that he would become an important part of the squad, but the Switzerland international has endured a frustrating stint in Italy.
Just seven goals and five assists have come from his 54 appearances for Milan, Okafor being restricted to 12 starts.
When the former Red Bull Salzburg star was loaned out to Napoli for the closing months of 2024-25, he was only provided with 36 minutes of football across four substitute appearances in Serie A.
Despite coming off the substitutes' bench in a Coppa Italia tie against Bari on Sunday, Okafor remains down the pecking order under new Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri.
Three years remain on his contract, leaving Leeds with a decision to make over a potential formal approach.
Would Okafor consider Leeds?
There was a time when Okafor was regarded as one of the top emerging attackers in Europe with 34 goals and 23 assists being recorded from 110 appearances for Red Bull Salzburg.
As such, he was linked with a number of high-profile clubs across the continent, but he should now be considering different clubs in an effort to kick-start his career.
Okafor requires a club where he will be playing every week having been limited to just 1,609 minutes of club football across two seasons.
That said, he should only consider Leeds - particularly on a permanent deal - if Farke views him as first choice, something which is questionable at this stage.
