Noel Hunt set for Leeds United return from Ipswich Town loan

Hunt set for Leeds return

Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has confirmed that Noel Hunt's loan at Portman Road from Leeds United will end tomorrow night and that the Irish striker will have to "do something else".

The 32-year-old has made three substitute appearances for the Tractor Boys since joining at the end of November, memorably scoring a 95th-minute winner on his debut at Charlton Athletic.

McCarthy told the club website: "His loan was due up [this coming] Saturday, but with the FA Cup game at Southampton pushed back until the Sunday, he now can't play in that game.

"There is nothing in place between the two clubs to extend the deal. There is no agreement there so Noel will have to go back to Leeds and do something else."

Hunt's final chance to play for Ipswich will be when Charlton visit Portman Road tomorrow night looking for revenge in the reverse fixture.
