Leeds United manager Neil Warnock believes that pre-season is important for the players' preparation for the new campaign but has insisted that the results are "unimportant".
The Whites, who finished 14th in the Championship last season, will be hoping to improve on their position with Warnock at the helm for his first full season at Elland Road.
"We start on the 11th although a few came in earlier than that," Warnock told the club's official website. "Lads look after themselves nowadays and so they should. It's a different ball game to what it used to be.
"Although the games are important the results are unimportant because you won't be relaxing like you do in a season with all the training. The games are just another fitness session."
Leeds travel to Farsley on July 20 and then two days later will head to Cornwall for a week to take on three pre-season matches.
