Leeds facing possibility of losing £100m?

Leeds United reportedly face the possibility of losing at least £100m if they fail to secure promotion to the Premier League.

Before the Championship campaign was brought to a halt due to the coronavirus pandemic, Leeds had established a seven-point advantage in the race for promotion.

However, at a time when it appears increasingly likely that the current Championship campaign will not resume, a number of Premier League clubs are arguing that relegation should not occur this season.

If those towards the bottom of the standings get their wish, the Daily Mail claims that Leeds stand to lose a minimum of £100m.

Missing out on television revenue would contribute to the majority of that total, with a team of Leeds' stature realistically being shown more than the minimum requirements.

The relevant governing bodies are expected to make decisions on the matter before the end of the month.
