Live Commentary: Leeds United 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday - as it happened

Saturday lunchtime's Championship match on gameweek four of the season was a Yorkshire derby as Leeds United took on Sheffield Wednesday at Elland Road.

Leeds went into the game having drawn their first three and they made it four in a row as Chris Wood cancelled out Marco Matias's stunning opener.

67 minSAVE! Palmer surges forward for Wednesday and finds the run of Lee with a through-ball. The midfielder's shot is blocked well by Bamba, but Palmer has carried on his run and the looping ball drops into the path of the defender and his header at goal is saved by Silvestri.

59 minMowatt has a chance soon after coming on but he leans back and spoons his shot from 20 yards miles over the bar.

59 minScratch that. It looks like Rosler has stuck with two up front and is playing Mowatt wide left. Dallas has switched over to the right.

57 minLEEDS SUBS: Byram hasn't had a great game and he goes off with Phillips as Murphy and Mowatt come on. That should see Leeds change to a 4-3-3, with Antenucci and Dallas either side of Wood.

55 minAwful effort from Phillips after Leeds won a free kick in a good position on the right corner of the box. He went for goal and tamely curled it into the side-netting. Murphy and Mowatt are about to come on and surely Phillips will be one of those going off.

52 minBOOKING! Phillips goes in strongly and gets the ball. Jones blows his whistle and reaches for his cards and you think the Leeds man is going to be sent off, but it's actually for Wednesday forward Sougou, who has committed one foul too many.

1.33pmLeeds are back out nice and early for the second half and it looks like Rosler hasn't made any changes. You'd expect to see Mowatt on soon if things don't change.

1.30pmRemember, the Whites are winless in six at Elland Road and haven't failed to win seven in a row at home since 1997.

1.28pmYou have to say that both sides defended well in the first half. You wouldn't say that Wednesday deserve to be in front, but the one moment of quality from Matias is the difference. Leeds really need to step it up after half time.

1.25pmMatias scored 17 goals in 33 games in the Portuguese top flight for Nacional last term and he's been the pick of the several new faces at Wednesday so far this season.

45 minThree players are stricken on the turf after a series of tough tackles. Hutchinson looks to be the worst off after jarring his knee in the grass when sliding in on Antenucci.

30 minTwo of Leeds's star young midfielders, Lewis Cook and Alex Mowatt, aren't playing today. Mowatt is on the bench, while Cook is suspended and you feel that they are being missed at the moment.

28 minLeeds are just shading the possession with 57% of the ball, but they're not doing enough with the ball. We've seen very little from Dallas out on the left so far; he needs to get in the game more.

26 minWood again flicks on for Antenucci, but this time Price is out quickly and does well to smother the ball and stay in his area.

25 minSHOT! That's the closest Leeds have been as Wood wins the flick-on and the ball sits up nicely for Antenucci, who takes on a first-time left-footed volley and fires it a yard or so wide.

24 minMatias's weak early effort remains the only shot on target at the midway point of the first half as Hutchinson has a go from range for the visitors and sends it a long way over the top.

21 minBOOKING! Another Leeds player into the book as Berardi goes up for a challenge with Matias and is too rough for Jones's liking.

17 minI said at the start that this might be a game of few chances and it's proved that way so far. Neither striker has had a clear opening yet, with almost all of the play in midfield so far.

13 minMost of Leeds's attacks in the early stages have come down the right. The two Bs, Berardi and Byram, enjoy getting forward but they can also defend together well as Byram was brought up as a right-back before gradually becoming more of a winger the last season or so.

10 minSHOT! The hosts' first real attempt on goal comes from Dallas as no-one closes him down 25 yards out and he shoots a yard or two over the bar. Moments earlier, Phillips's effort from the edge of the area was blocked by Lees.

7 minMatias again looking bright for the visitors as his attempted pass infield takes a deflection and almost drops kindly into the path of Nuhiu.

6 minMatias, who has started his Wednesday career well, has the first shot of the game but it's a tame effort from outside the box that Silvestri saves easily.

4 minNot much of note since that early booking for Phillips. Neither keeper has had anything to deal with as the two teams feel each other out.

12.27pmPREDICTION: Right, just a few minutes until kickoff. This could be a tight affair and I'm just siding with Leeds because of all the changes Carvalhal has made. 1-0 to the home side.

12.25pmHowever, Leeds are without a home win in six games. They've not gone seven without a win since 1997 and with three of their next four at home, Rosler will be keen to put that right.

12.23pmH2H: Wednesday have taken the lead in the last seven meetings, but Leeds have lost just one of their last seven home matches against Wednesday, winning four. Last season it was a 1-1 draw at Elland Road. The most recent meeting was at Hillsborough on the penultimate weekend of last season, with Leeds fighting back from 1-0 down at half time to win 2-1 away from home.

12.21pmCarvalhal will hope that the Owls can shore up their backline today as they've conceded two or more goals in five of their last six away games, shipping one goal in the other.

12.20pmMoving onto the visitors, they suffered late emotions on the other end of the scale in midweek as Modou Sougou rifled home a late equaliser against Reading to salvage a point after a below-par display. He is rewarded with a start today in a three-pronged attack.

12.18pmStretching back to the final game of last season, Leeds have now drawn four straight in the Championship. If it becomes five today, they will equal a club record.

12.16pmOne positive for Leeds on Wednesday was Chris Wood breaking his duck having failed to hit the target with any of his shots in the opening two league matches. He starts again today as the spearhead of Leeds's attack.

Three rounds into the season, Ipswich Town, Hull City and Brighton & Hove Albion are setting the pace on seven points from nine, with Wednesday on four and Leeds on three. Leeds would be on five had they not conceded two goals after the 88th minute at Bristol on Wednesday.
