Half-Time Report: Leeds United hold firm at Hull City

Leeds hold firm at Hull

A much-changed Leeds United have made a positive start against high-flying Hull City to head into the break level.

Hull had a pair of penalty shouts in the early going, with the referee waving away appeals from David Meyler and Sone Aluko.

Robert Koren then failed to take advantage of a defensive lapse from Alan Tate, blazing high and wide to waste a good opening.

Leeds passed the ball well and the new-look strikeforce of Ross McCormack and Davide Somma were both willing runners throughout the first half.

An entertaining 45 minutes drew to a close with Hull having a pair of good chances to break the deadlock.

First Abdoulaye Faye headed into sidenetting from close range before Robbie Brady shaved the post following a fine cross from Ahmed Elmohamady.

The final action of a frantic opening period saw McCormack booked for a late lunge on the bright Brady.
