Half-Time Report: Greg Halford hands Nottingham Forest lead over Leeds United

Nottingham Forest lead Leeds United in their Championship clash at the City Ground thanks to a strike from Greg Halford after 23 minutes.

Forest started brightly and could have taken the lead when the ball was played to Jamie Mackie inside the penalty area, but he could only fire wide of the target.

However, they did go ahead minutes later. Andy Reid lifted a free kick into the area from 40 yards out to the back post, where Halford rose highest and headed the ball past Kenny from close range.

It was almost two minutes later, as Reid himself jinked inside the penalty area and fired a shot at goal which went just over the bar with Kenny scrambling.
