Lazio fight back to beat Parma

Lazio come from behind to earn a 2-1 win against bottom-of-the-table Parma thanks to goals from Stefano Mauri and Felipe Anderson.

Lazio have ended a three-game winless run in Serie A by coming from behind to beat bottom-of-the-table Parma 2-1 this afternoon.

Lucas Biglia came within inches of scoring for the visitors in the fourth minute, when his curling free kick from just outside the box cannoned back off the crossbar.

Parma then thought that they had taken the lead as Massimo Gobbi slotted in Antonio Cassano's cross at the back post, but his effort was incorrectly ruled out for offside.

The hosts continued to put their opponents under pressure and Andrea Rispoli headed wide of the target following a corner.

Andrea Costa was then denied by the woodwork, as he turned Alessandro Lucarelli's cross onto the bar.

In the final minute of the half, Parma were rewarded for their pressure by going ahead as Raffaele Palladino headed Fabiano Santacroce's cross into the top corner.

However, their lead was short lived, as Stefano Mauri headed in at the back post to level the scores two minutes into first-half stoppage time.

After the break, Senad Lulic saw his low strike tipped behind by Alessandro Iacobucci, before Jose Mauri poked an effort wide of the far post at the other end for Parma.

With the game approaching the hour mark, Lazio took the lead as Gobbi's clearance was closed down by Filip Djordjevic, who then charged into the box before squaring for Felipe Anderson to tap home at the back post.

Lazio were able to see out the rest of the match with relative ease, as they claimed three points which see them move up to fifth in the table, while subjecting their opponents to their 12th Serie A defeat of the season.
