Lazio brush aside Chievo

Antonio Candreva and Senad Lulic are among the goalscorers as Lazio put three past Chievo for a comfortable home win in Serie A.

Lazio have got back to winning ways in Serie A with a comfortable victory over Chievo, thanks to three unanswered goals in the first half.

Vladimir Petkovic made five changes to his starting lineup and got an instant reward when his Lazio side broke the deadlock after eight minutes with a deflected effort from Antonio Candreva.

Chievo responded positively and should have equalised when Alberto Paloschi's effort was parried into the path of Cyril Thereau, but his shot from close range went high over the crossbar.

The visitors were punished for that miss quickly as Christian Ledesma found Luis Cavanda at the back post, and the full-back volleyed home for his first senior goal.

Just before the break Lazio made all three points safe as Senad Lulic glided into the penalty area, collected a flick from Ogenyi Onazi and slotted home at the near post.

Lazio controlled the second half and could have extended their lead further in spectacular style, but Candreva's drive from distance came back off the crossbar.

The Aquile held firm to keep a clean sheet and make it successive home wins in Serie A this season.
