Giovani dos Santos "honoured" to play with Steven Gerrard

New Los Angeles Galaxy signing Giovani dos Santos has said that he is looking forward to playing alongside Steven Gerrard.

The 26-year-old midfielder completed his move to the MLS club last week after spending the past two seasons at Villarreal.

"It's a great opportunity to play alongside Steven Gerrard given he's a star player," Dos Santos told the club's official website.

"I think it's an honour for any player to be able to share the field with him. I am eager to meet him and be able to play with him. I am a fan of his and obviously I'm happy to be able to share the locker room with him."

Dos Santos has previously enjoyed spells at Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur.
