Giovinco delighted with important goal

Juventus striker Sebastian Giovinco has insisted that he plans to build on bagging his first goal of the season last night to fight for a first-team place in Turin.

Giovinco scored just moments after coming on as a substitute to give Juve the lead in a 3-2 win over AC Milan, smashing an emphatic shot into the corner from close range.

He told reporters: "We played a good game and deserved the victory, despite the occasional lapses in concentration that we paid dearly for.

"We played well apart from those opening 10 minutes and I think it's an important win.

"I'm very happy with my goal and I want to continue like this. I dedicate this strike to all of those who stay close to me."

The 26-year-old faces stern competition for regular football in Turin this season, with Carlos Tevez, Mirko Vucinic, Fabio Quagliarella and Fernando Llorente giving coach Antonio Conte plenty of options in attack.
