Gianluigi Buffon sets new Serie A record for not conceding

Gianluigi Buffon sets new Serie A record

Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has set a new record mark for the longest time without conceding a goal in Serie A.

Former AC Milan shot-stopper Sebastiano Rossi had previously held the record of 929 minutes for 22 years, but Buffon surpassed that mark in the fourth minute of his side's 4-1 win over Torino this afternoon.

The 38-year-old's long streak finally came to an end at 974 minutes when Andrea Belotti scored from the penalty spot to become the first player to beat Buffon in the league since January 10.

Juventus also had Sami Khedira sent off, but the German had already added to a Paul Pogba goal before his dismissal, and a brace from Alvaro Morata clinched the win in the Turin derby.

The victory sees Juve extend their unbeaten league run to 20 games, leaving them three points clear at the top of the table.
