Juventus striker Carlos Tevez out of Coppa Italia tie

Carlos Tevez has been ruled out of Juventus's Coppa Italia away tie against Fiorentina tonight with a thigh injury.

The Argentine striker travelled to Florence with his teammates, but following an evaluation by the medical staff, he has been sent back to Turin for further tests.

"Carlos Tevez will miss out on tonight's Coppa Italia semi-final return leg clash with Fiorentina," read a statement on the club's official website.

"He returns to Turin as a precautionary measure due to persistent discomfort felt from flexor muscle fatigue in his right thigh, an issue first reported during yesterday's training. The Argentine forward will undergo further medical assessments tomorrow."

The Old Lady go into this evening's encounter trailing 2-1 from the first leg.
