Fiorentina striker Giuseppe Rossi could miss Italy's friendly international against Germany on Friday due to illness.

The 26-year-old missed the Azzurri training session on Tuesday after arriving at the team's Coverciano base with a fever and a touch of tonsillitis.

The former Parma and Manchester United forward also had to sit out Wednesday's morning session and is now doubtful to regain his fitness in time for the clash against the Germans at the San Siro.

However, reports in the Italian media suggest that Rossi could be fit for Italy's match against Nigeria on Monday.
