Paul Pogba, Manuel Locatelli continue Cristiano Ronaldo's fizzy drink saga

Italy midfielder Manuel Locatelli has jumped on the bandwagon by following Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo's example of removing sponsored drinks.

Previously, Ronaldo removed two Coca-Cola bottles from the table in front of him at a Euro 2020 pre-match press conference on Monday.

He grabbed the two bottles and moved them away before telling people to drink water in Portuguese while holding a bottle of water himself. He then rolled his eyes and said in disgust, "Coca-Cola".

Locatelli copied Ronaldo's stunt with a little modification. At a press conference after Italy's 3-0 victory over Switzerland where he was named man of the match, he removed two bottles of the fizzy drink from their place, front and centre of the table, and placed his own bottle of water in between them.

He mimicked Ronaldo's "agua!" by saying "acqua!", Italian for water. He then smirked and toyed with his Man of the Match trophy.

Previously, French midfielder Paul Pogba also removed a bottle of sponsored drink placed on his table during a press conference after a 1-0 victory against Germany where he was also named man of the match.

A devout Muslim, Pogba moved a bottle of Heineken beer away from shot under the table. Unlike Ronaldo and Locatelli, however, Pogba did not make any remark following the action.
