Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy open to swap deal

Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy reveals that he would be open to a swap deal in the final week of the January transfer window.

Ipswich Town are open to a swap deal in the final week of the January transfer window, manager Mick McCarthy has said.

The Tractor Boys have added just one player this month in Frazer Richardson, who signed on loan until the end of the season.

Despite the lack of transfer activity, McCarthy feels that there is good cover in all positions even with his relatively small squad.

When asked if there might be any further business, McCarthy told the Green'Un: "It's unlikely unless somebody wanted to do a swap.

"It is nice to get a fresh face in. It does give the rest of the lads a bit of a gee up if you can bring someone in. It just freshens it up. But if I don't, I don't."

The Blues picked up their first win of 2014 on Saturday, beating Reading 2-0 at home to end a run of four league games without a victory.
