Preview: Ipswich Town vs. Barnsley

Sports Mole looks ahead to the Friday night meeting in the Championship between Ipswich and Barnsley at Portman Road.

The Friday night match in the Championship sees Mick McCarthy's Ipswich Town host David Flitcroft's Barnsley in Suffolk.

McCarthy's Blues have slipped into the bottom half of the table after four games without a win in the league.

Three of those were away from home though and the Tractor Boys' record is better at Portman Road, where they have won four of six in the league this season.

Paul Taylor is available for selection after he returned from a month-long loan at former club Peterborough and McCarthy may well install the forward alongside David McGoldrick up front.

Opponents Barnsley go into the match sitting in lowly 23rd place.

Flitcroft is expected to name the same side that drew with South Yorkshire neighbours Sheffield Wednesday last time out, with Peter Ramage the Tykes' only absentee because of injury.

Both matches between the pair finished as 1-1 draws last season.
