Paul Anderson: 'No contact with Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy before move'

Anderson didn't speak to McCarthy before Ipswich move

New Ipswich Town winger Paul Anderson has revealed that he didn't speak to Tractor Boys manager Mick McCarthy until after he had finalised his move from Bristol City.

Anderson completed his switch across the country on Monday, with Jay Emmanuel-Thomas going the other way in a swap deal.

"I didn't need any convincing," Anderson, 24, told BBC Radio Suffolk. "In fact, I hadn't spoken to Mick McCarthy until Monday when it was all done.

"I just hope he's happy to sign me as I've barely spoken to him at all."

Anderson makes his first appearance in a blue shirt tonight in a pre-season friendly against Crawley Town.
