Vidic leaves Inter by mutual consent

Former Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic has left Inter Milan by mutual consent.

Reports surfaced on Tuesday that the 34-year-old had come to an agreement with the Italian giants to leave San Siro having fallen down the pecking order at the club.

Vidic has not played a single game for Inter this season and turned out just 27 times overall after moving to Italy in the summer of 2014.

The former Serbia international has been linked with a move back to his old club Spartak Moscow, while there has also been speculation suggesting that he could see out his playing days in the MLS.

However, a number of Premier League clubs may also be interested in bringing the former Old Trafford stalwart back to England on a free transfer for the rest of the season.

Vidic won five Premier League titles, three League Cups and a Champions League during his 298 appearances for Man Utd.
