Sneijder: 'It's better if I leave'

Inter Milan star Wesley Sneijder has admitted that leaving the club in January would be the best possible solution to his current contract wrangle.

The Dutch international has refused to take a cut in pay and looks likely to be shipped out of the San Siro, with Tottenham Hotspur reportedly leading the queue of admirers.

Nerazzurri coach Andrea Stramaccioni has left the door open for Sneijder to return to his side, but the 28-year-old has suggested that his future now lies elsewhere.

"Clearly it's better for everyone if I leave in January," De Telegraaf quotes Sneijder as saying. "If that doesn't happen, then I will stay.

"I have a contract until the end of June 2015 with Inter."

Sneijder's agent recently played down a link with Spurs.
