Sneijder considered Inter exit

Inter Milan playmaker Wesley Sneijder has revealed that he considered leaving the club in January after receiving an offer from Zenit St Petersburg.

The Dutchman has long been linked with a move away from the San Siro, with Premier League rivals Manchester United and Manchester City both reportedly interested.

While he resisted the temptation of a transfer during the winter window, Sneijder has admitted that he will look closely again at his future come the end of the season.

"I was tempted to leave the club. I had some interesting offers and Zenit St Petersburg made an offer. It was interesting. They wanted to push ahead with it," he said.

"There was absolutely nothing wrong with their proposal, but I didn't think it was the right time for me to leave Inter.

"We will see what can happen at the end of the season."

The 27-year-old joined Inter from Real Madrid in 2009.
