Inter Milan confirm Lucio exit

Inter Milan have confirmed that an agreement has been made to cancel the contract of Brazilian defender Lucio.

The 34-year-old, who moved to the San Siro in 2009 from Bayern Munich and made 136 appearances for the Nerazzurri, had two years remaining on his contract with the Serie A giants.

"Internazionale announces that the documents relative to the cancellation of Lucio's contract by mutual consent have been deposited in the offices of Lega Serie A," said a club statement.

"Everyone at FC Internazionale wishes Lucio and his family a fond farewell."

Lucio had been linked with a summer switch to Fenerbahce, but the Turkish club released an official statement yesterday denying their interest in the player.
