Inter Milan fight back to draw with Lazio

Inter Milan came from two goals behind to earn a point as Lazio were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw at the San Siro this evening.

Felipe Anderson handed the visitors the lead in just the second minute when he took advantage of some sloppy Inter defending to find the space to drill the ball past Samir Handanovic.

The Brazilian midfielder could have doubled his side's advantage moments later, but he could only volley over the crossbar from a promising position in the box.

Inter struggled to cause Lazio problems for any extended spell as the hosts were forced back by Stefano Pioli's confident side.

The influential Anderson scored his second of the evening before the break with a stunning low finish after taking on three Inter defenders in the box.

Mauro Icardi should have reduced the deficit early in the second half when he found space in the box, but he could only slice a poor effort past the post.

However, Inter's improvement was rewarded just after the hour mark when Mateo Kovacic unleashed an unstoppable strike from the edge of the box to get the hosts back in the game.

Lazio struggled to hold off the hosts after their lead was halved, and Inter took advantage to equalise with just 10 minutes remaining.

A longer ball forward sliced open the Lazio defence to set up Rodrigo Palacio, who held his nerve to get his side back on level terms with a calm finish.

Federico Marchetti ensured that Lazio escaped with a point by making a fine save to keep out Kovacic's header as Inter finished a dramatic game strongly.
