Both Fiorentina and Inter Milan failed to find the net at the Stadio Artemio Franchi this afternoon.
Visiting Inter controlled large parts of the opening half and went close to breaking the deadlock in the 15th minute when Diego Forlan sent a drilled effort just wide of the target.
The Uruguayan had another chance as the half drew to a close, but his shot from close range was blocked.
The home side came out for the second half with a greater attacking threat and had a good chance to claim all three points in the 68th minute. However, Adem Ljajic saw his penalty saved by Julio Cesar after the Brazilian goalkeeper had brought down Andrea Lazzari.
Both sides created chances as the match drew to a close, but neither could find the winning goal.
