Inter Milan's Jonathan hails "huge win"

Inter Milan defender Jonathan praises his teammates following their 2-0 victory over Hellas Verona on Saturday evening.

Inter Milan defender Jonathan has expressed his delight with his side's 2-0 win over Hellas Verona in Serie A.

The Nerazzurri kept alive their hopes of earning a place in next season's Champions League, as goals in each half from Rodrigo Palacio and Jonathan earned them three vital points.

"This was a huge win because Verona were right behind us in the race for the European spots. Now we have to keep Parma at arm's reach," he told the club's official website.

"We're happy with our form at the moment. I liked the way we played tonight and we deserve this win because we've been working really well. Hopefully we can keep going like this till the end.

"[Walter] Mazzarri told us to keep knuckling down and the bad luck we were having would pass. That's what happened. Now we must push on without looking at the table and try to climb as high as we can."

Inter are currently fourth in the league table.
