Sunderland, Leicester City make Curtis Davies enquiries?

Hull City defender Curtis Davies is reportedly a January transfer target of Premier League rivals Sunderland and Leicester City.

Sunderland and Leicester City have reportedly made contact with Hull City regarding the availability of their captain Curtis Davies.

The centre-back had been a regular in Steve Bruce's starting lineup following his 2013 arrival from Birmingham City, but he has recently lost his place in the side.

That has alerted Black Cats boss Gus Poyet and his Leicester counterpart Nigel Pearson, both of whom are keen to sign the 29-year-old during the January transfer window, according to talkSPORT.

The report adds that Davies could be available for around £5m, but Bruce would not consider a loan deal.

It has been suggested that Bruce's supposed willingness to sell Davies may be down to the fact that he is eager to free up some funds to make new signings next month.
