Hull City hold Swansea City to draw

Swansea City and Hull play out a 1-1 draw in their Premier League encounter at the Liberty Stadium this evening.

Both Swansea City and Hull City moved up a spot in the Premier League table courtesy of a 1-1 draw at the Liberty Stadium this evening.

Hull took the lead after just nine minutes when Danny Graham got on the end of Ahmed El Mohamady's cross to score against his former club, ending a goal drought of 30 games in the process.

The hosts had a chance to level things up midway through the first half when Jonjo Shelvey and Michu combined to set up Ben Davies, but the full-back fired his shot over the crossbar.

The equaliser did eventually come right on the hour mark when Shelvey blasted a cross towards the near post that hit Chico Flores and went in.

Hull wanted a handball against the Swansea defender, but the referee awarded the goal, much to the chagrin of the away team.

The visitors almost regained the lead with 15 minutes left when Yannick Sagbo fired a low effort towards goal from 30 yards out that Gerhard Tremmel did well to push away.

At the other end, Allan McGregor also had to be alert a few minutes later as he denied Michu after the Spaniard had played a one-two with Wayne Routledge to create a shooting chance.

Neither side could find a winner in the closing stages, however, as both teams were forced to settle for a share of the spoils.
