Sean Scannell pens Huddersfield extension

Huddersfield Town have announced that Sean Scannell has signed a new three-year contract at the John Smith's Stadium.

The 25-year-old winger was due to be out of contract at the end of the season but has now committed to the Terriers for the next three.

"I am very happy that [Scannell] has signed a new contract with us," Huddersfield head coach David Wagner told the club website.

"He is a great Championship player with the potential to develop further, a great character and is one of the players who has taken our idea and identity onto the pitch every time he has played. "As I have already said, securing our talented players to the club for the future is just as important as looking to bring new players in."

Scannell has scored one goal in 21 appearances this season for Huddersfield, who are 17th in the Championship.
