Saturday's League One predictions including Huddersfield Town vs. Reading

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's League One fixtures, including Huddersfield Town vs. Reading.

Charlton vs. Stevenage (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Two playoff hopes will go head-to-head when Charlton Athletic welcome Stevenage to The Valley for Saturday's League One fixture.

The seventh-placed hosts are sitting outside the playoffs on goal difference, while the visitors are four points behind in 11th position.

We say: Charlton Athletic 1-1 Stevenage

Charlton have dropped just two points in their last five home games, but they are set to face a Stevenage side that have avoided defeat in each of their last seven competitive away games, and we think the visitors will do enough to take a point from Saturday's trip to The Valley.

Stockport vs. Barnsley (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Stockport County will welcome Barnsley to Edgeley Park on Saturday for an important contest in the fight for top-six spots in the League One table.

In the midst of contrasting runs of form, the hosts have climbed to fourth spot and moved seven points ahead of their visitors.

We say: Stockport County 2-1 Barnsley

Given the contrasting form of the two sides, we back Stockport County to again come out on top at the weekend with home advantage on their side and growing momentum in their promotion bid.

Bolton vs. Crawley (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Steven Schumacher will attempt to claim his first win as Bolton Wanderers boss when his side face Crawley Town in Saturday's League One fixture.

The hosts are sitting in ninth place in the League One standings, while the visitors are languishing in the relegation zone.

We say: Bolton Wanderers 2-0 Crawley Town

Schumacher may have experienced a disappointing start to his tenure, but we think he will take all three points from his first home game in charge, especially as Crawley have lost four of their previous six away league matches.

Burton Albion vs. Blackpool (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Burton Albion play host to Blackpool on Saturday afternoon looking for the win that would extend their remarkable upturn in fortunes in League One.

At a time when the Brewers sit in 21st place in the standings, the visitors occupy 13th spot after their own strong run of form.

We say: Burton Albion 2-1 Blackpool

With this fixture between two of the in-form teams in the division, we expect an entertaining affair to unfold at the Pirelli Stadium. Both teams will likely show a proactiveness to secure all three points, yet we feel Burton's improving results on familiar territory will stand them in good stead.

Huddersfield vs. Reading (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Separated by four points at the top end of the League One table, Huddersfield Town and Reading will do battle in an important contest at the John Smith's Stadium on Saturday.

The hosts have dropped out of the automatic promotion picture and down to fifth spot owing to three straight defeats, while their visitors are within touching distance of the playoffs thanks to a return to winning ways last time out.

We say: Huddersfield Town 2-1 Reading

In what promises to be a tight game at the John Smith's Stadium, we back Huddersfield Town to make their quality count on home turf and arrest their tough run of form with a victory at the weekend.

Lincoln vs. Cambridge (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Lincoln City play host to Cambridge United on Saturday afternoon searching for the win that will keep the club in the playoff race.

At a time when the home side sit in 12th place in the League One table, Cambridge remain eight points adrift of safety despite their recent improvements.

We say: Lincoln City 2-1 Cambridge United

After their surprise point versus Wycombe, Cambridge will be on a high heading into this fixture. Nevertheless, we are backing Lincoln to come through in a hard-fought fixture, boosting their top-six hopes in the process.

Aiming to further narrow their gap to safety at the bottom end of the League One table, Shrewsbury Town will travel to the New York Stadium on Saturday to take on Rotherham United.

The visitors moved up to 23rd spot and remained seven points adrift of safety with a return to winning ways last time out, while their hosts dropped back down to 15th place following a defeat at the weekend.

We say: Rotherham United 1-0 Shrewsbury Town

Shrewsbury Town certainly look rejuvenated and improved under Gareth Ainsworth, but they are yet to fix their issues away from home and could fall just short in another tight contest given the quality in the hosts' squad.
