Dean Whitehead ruled out for eight weeks with knee injury

Injury rules Whitehead out for eight weeks

Huddersfield Town midfielder Dean Whitehead has been ruled out for up to eight weeks with a knee injury.

The 33-year-old was forced off during Saturday's 2-0 win at Birmingham City, which was the Terriers' first victory under new head coach David Wagner.

The former Middlesbrough player could miss up to nine Championship games, with a number of those coming over the festive season.

"Gutted I cant help lads in busy Christmas period, i feared more serious injury," Whitehead wrote on Twitter.

"I'll be working my hardest to get back asap! I'm a fan for next six to eight weeks."

Whitehead has made 19 appearances for Huddersfield since joining from Boro in the summer.
