Scottish Championship roundup: Hearts thrash Dumbarton

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday's Scottish Championship action as Hearts thrash Dumbarton, Rangers win at Alloa Athletic and Hibernian draw with Falkirk.

Hearts have maintained their fine run of form with a 5-1 win away at Dumbarton in the Scottish Championship.

Sam Nicholson gave Hearts a great start after just eight minutes, before Jamie Walker doubled their lead before half time.

After the break, the league leaders put their foot down and scored three goals in 10 minutes, with Genaro Zeefuik getting two on his debut either side of Nicholson's second.

Dumbarton pulled one back from Christopher Kane, before Zeefuik wasted a chance for his hat-trick by missing a penalty.

Promotion rivals Rangers claimed a narrow win away as Nicky Law's 15th-minute close-range strike was enough for them to beat Alloa Athletic.

Third-place Hibernian were pegged back by Falkirk in a 3-3 draw, despite leading 3-1 in the second period, with Peter Grant netting the vital equaliser.

Bottom side Livingstone started late against Cowdenbeath, before playing out a 1-1 draw, while Raith Rovers' game with Queen of the South was postponed.

Results in full: Alloa Athletic 0-1 Rangers, Dumbarton 1-5 Hearts, Hibernian 3-3 Falkirk, Livingstone 1-1 Cowdenbeath.
