Hearts promise to pay tax bill

Hearts reveal that they will pay an outstanding tax bill in full today.

Scottish Premier League club Hearts have promised that they will pay an outstanding tax bill by the close of business today.

The Advocate General for Scotland lodged a petition for an administration order against the club in July, a move which granted Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs the right to serve the order on the club.

However, Hearts have insisted that the matter will be dealt with shortly.

"The situation is under control," a club spokesman told the BBC.

"The amount will be paid in full tomorrow [Tuesday]."

The club were previously issued with a winding-up order by the HMRC in 2009.
