Groningen maintain winning start in Eredivisie

Groningen have maintained their winning start to the Eredivisie season by beating Heracles 3-1 at the Euroborg.

It took the hosts just eight minutes to take the lead courtesy of Tjaronn Chery, while Michael de Leeuw added a second before the interval.

Iliass Bel Hassani's effort set up a tense final 30 minutes for Erwin van de Looi's men, but Yoell van Nieff found the target shortly after to make sure of the win.

Groningen are back in league action next weekend with a trip to face ADO Den Haag.
