Granada steal shock win over Athletic Bilbao

Athletic Bilbao suffered a shock defeat in La Liga as they were beaten 2-0 away at hosts Granada this evening.

Bilbao did not get off to the best of starts, as defender Aymeric Laporte put into his own net after just five minutes had been played.

The visitors sought to hit back having mounted a period of sustained pressure, but Aritz Aduriz and Inaki Williams were guilty of missing chances.

Taking a one-goal lead into the break, Granada came out recharged in the second period and they soon found their vital second goal when Isaac Success tucked into the bottom-right corner in the 59th minute.

The visitors responded by pressing forward in the final 20 minutes of the encounter, but they were unable to find a way past Andres Fernandez, leaving Granada to hold firm for the win.
