Reus: 'Germany elated with late win'

Germany attacker Marco Reus has said that his team felt "pure elation" as they came from behind to record a 2-1 win over Sweden at the 2018 World Cup on Saturday night.

Reus cancelled out an effort from Ola Toivonen to leave the two teams on terms in the Group F clash, and it did appear that the points would be shared on the night.

Toni Kroos came up with a 95th-minute winner for the Germans, however, with the result meaning that the world champions have their World Cup destiny in their own hands as they prepare to take on South Korea on Wednesday.

"Pure elation. We've seen it a couple of times at this World Cup that goals are scored. In the last 10 minutes we were really eager to win the match," Reus told reporters. "For Toni Kroos to score was quite incredible - to win it with the last kick of the match was amazing - I pay my respects to him."

Borussia Dortmund's Reus has now scored 10 times in 33 caps for Germany.
