Napoli ease past Genoa

Napoli secure a comfortable 2-0 victory against Genoa in Serie A, thanks to two goals from Goran Pandev.

Napoli have defeated Genoa 2-0 away from home to make it five wins from six matches in Serie A.

The visitors picked up an early lead through Goran Pandev, who took advantage of a defensive mistake to score from 25 yards out.

It was soon 2-0, as Pandev grabbed his second of the game. This time, the striker picked up Lorenzo Insigne's flick-on, controlled in the box and slotted the ball into the net.

Rafael Benitez's side were in control at this stage but failed to add to their lead before half time.

Napoli broke in the second half through Duvan Zapata, but the ball through to Jose Callejon was deflected and rolled through to Genoa goalkeeper Mattia Perin.

Genoa had a good chance to reduce the deficit after an hour when Mario Santana's cross found Alberto Gilardino, but the latter's header went wide.

Gonzalo Higuain had a late effort with the outside of his foot, but it went wide of the post.
