Fulham announce the departure of midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah to West Bromwich Albion on a permanent deal.

Fulham have announced that midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah has left the club to join West Bromwich Albion on a permanent deal.

The 28-year-old has only played a peripheral role for Marco Silva's European chasers in the 2022-23 campaign, playing a mere six games in all tournaments.

With Joao Palhinha and Harrison Reed establishing themselves as Silva's first-choice midfield pairing, Chalobah has been restricted to a mere 10 minutes in four Premier League matches.

One of those substitute cameos saw the one-cap England international receive an eighth-minute red card against Newcastle United, and his only other start came in an EFL Cup defeat to Crawley Town.

Chalobah has now departed Craven Cottage for the Hawthorns one and a half years after joining from Watford, making 28 appearances for Fulham in all tournaments and setting up two goals in that time.

The midfielder came through the youth system at Chelsea and played 15 times for the Blues, while also being sent out on loan to six different clubs in Watford, Middlesbrough, Burnley, Reading, Napoli and Nottingham Forest.
