Fulham transfer news: Cottagers submit 'new bid' for Shakhtar Donetsk star after initial rejection

Fulham table 'new bid' for Shakhtar star after initial rejection

Fulham have reportedly submitted a fresh bid for Shakhtar Donetsk winger Kevin.

The Cottagers have experienced an underwhelming transfer window, having added just one new name to Marco Silva's side ahead of the new season.

Last month, Fulham recruited goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte from Montpellier to become Bernd Leno's new understudy.

Silva is keen to bring in further reinforcements, admitting before Saturday's friendly against Eintracht Frankfurt that he wants multiple additions before his team begins the Premier League season with an away game against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.

“We hope we can strengthen the squad in the three or four positions we need to before the first game,” Silva said as per the Evening Standard

Fulham make fresh Kevin bid

“Some positions are really short and we have to add players, yes or yes, until the end of the market because it’s not what we expect in this moment of the season to don’t have at least one, two or three players we needed for the beginning of the season.

“We expected much more activity from ourselves in terms of recruitment, players in. Unfortunately, they are not here.

Fulham's recruitment team are currently pushing to secure the signature of Shakhtar's Kevin, but they have already failed with a bid worth an initial €30m (£26m).

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Fulham have returned to the negotiating table with an improved bid for the Brazilian winger.

Fulham are offering €37m (£32m) plus add-ons, which still falls significantly short of Shakhtar's asking price.

The Ukrainian side are believed to be demanding €50m (£43.2m) to part ways with a player who is under contract until December 2028.

Who is Fulham's transfer target?

The 22-year-old spent time in the Palmeiras youth ranks before he went on to make just 11 appearances for the senior side.

Kevin ultimately did enough to earn a move to Shakhtar, who spent an initial €12m (£10.4m) to secure his services in January 2024.

The right-footed left winger has gone on to score 16 goals and provide 10 assists in 55 appearances for Shakhtar.

Kevin has made an impressive start to the 2025-26 campaign, registering four goals and two assists in three appearances in Europa League qualifying.

Fulham could view Kevin as a replacement for his compatriot Willian, who left Craven Cottage at the end of last season.
